Dewayne Dixson, 53, of Asher, was born July 2, 1963, in Ada to Jerry
Wayne and Shirley Jeanette (Farris) Dixson. He passed away on the family farm Nov. 25, 2016.
He grew up in Asher and was an outstanding athlete in basketball and baseball. He graduated from Asher High School in 1981. He was a farmer and rancher and loved the outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Dixson; his paternal grandfather, E.W. Dixson; and his maternal grandparents, Red and Lucille Farris.
He is survived by two sons, Kevin Dixson of Asher and Derrick Dixson of Tecumseh; two daughters, Shelby and Kathryn Dixson, both of Asher; longtime companion, Dusty Jackson of Asher; his mother, Shirley Dixson of Asher; his nephew, Dalton Dixson of Oklahoma City; his uncle, Keith Farris and his wife, Jackie, of Galey; and many cousins and friends.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Wayne Bottom, Billy Fowler, Joe Magby, Wyman Nail, Johnny (Goober) Jones, Bill Frankovich, David Richards and Bryan Richards.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Asher. The Rev. Scott Hamilton will officiate. Burial will follow at Vista cemetery in Asher.
