Charles's Story

Charles Lee Jones of Stratford was born Nov. 14, 1936, in Vanoss in a boxcar to Eules and Susan (Horton) Jones. He passed away Feb. 14, 2018, at the VA in Muskogee at the age of 81 years and 3 months.
He graduated high school from Vanoss and went on to Rose State for two years. He served our country in the United States Army and worked at Tinker field until retirement. Lived in the Vanoss/ Stratford area most of his life.
He was a member of the Community Free Will Baptist Church in Pickett, DFW and D.A.V.E. Loved playing dominoes with his friends at the senior citizens center in Stratford.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; ; Rudy, and Joe Jones, and two grandchildren.
Survived by five sons, Bobby Jones and wife, Patty, Wanette,
Jimmy Jones and wife, Luann, Norfolk, Virginia, Timothy Jones, Oklahoma City, Raymond Jones and wife, Maria, Texas, Rudy Jones of Texas and Charles Boots Jones of Newalla; three daughters, Bequeta Jones of Kingston, Darlene Jones and Leonard Scott, Yukon, and Bonita Runyon and husband, Andy Argyle, Texas; one sister, Arlene Mcquillen, Lousiana; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at DeArman/Pickard Funeral Home, Stratford.
Services with honor guard will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at DeArman/Pickard Chapel, Stratford, with the Rev. John Henry Lippard officiating. Burial will be in Midland Cemetery, west of Vanoss.
