Calvin Nolen Services for Calvin Wayne Nolen, 69, of Ada are at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel. The Revs. Steve Gardner and Harold Ware will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Calvin entered heaven on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018, at an Oklahoma City hospital.
He was born June 11, 1949, at Ada to Bruce Talmus and Opal Fern Freeman Nolen. He graduated from Latta High School.
He married Debra Lou Covert on Oct. 22, 1971, in Roff. Cal was a parts manager for Service Chevrolet, retiring in June 2018 after 43 years of service.
He was currently a member and deacon at New Bethel Baptist Church at Byng. Formerly, he served as a deacon at Colbert Baptist Church and the First Baptist Church of Ada and taught Sunday school for many years. He was involved with the TV ministry at First Baptist Church and involved in the Gideon Bible Ministry.
Calvin loved leading the monthly singing at the Ada Baptist Village.
Survivors include his wife, Debra, of the home; a son, Justin Wayne Nolen and wife, Christy, of Oklahoma City; a daughter, Penni Lou Brady and husband, Charles Brady III, of Ardmore; five grandchildren, Jacob Wayne Nolen, Caleb Dale Nolen, Charles Edward "Brady" IV, Abigail Faith Nolen and Calin Lou Brady; a sister, Anita Nolen of Ada; and other loving relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John Nolen.
Bearers will be Jacob Nolen, Caleb Nolen, Charles "Brady" IV, Paul Thomas, Rick Stettler, Robert Vick and Steve Ballietter. Honorary bearers will be Abigail Faith Nolen, Calin Lou Brady, Chris Statton and Geoff Williams.
