Buddy's Story

Memorial Services for Buddy Lee Craig, 84, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Ada Church of The Nazarene. The Revs. Jim Knight, Ken Brown and Mark Henson will officiate.
Buddy was born May 29, 1932, in Seminole to Dawson Vernon "DV" and Anna (Coldren) Craig. He passed away March 29, 2017, at his home in Ada. Buddy served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Alaska. He was the fourth person hired at the Solo Cup plant in Ada. He retired as the purchasing agent for Solo after 20 years of service.
He was a member of Ada Church of the Nazarene and Gideons International for many years, and he served the Ada Gideons as both President and Treasurer. He was a member of HOBO Camping Club and enjoyed camping and fishing with the group. He was an avid golfer for many years and played on several major courses. He won many trophies. Buddy loved Oklahoma Football and enjoyed sharing that passion with family and friends. He lived by the Choctaw code of Faith, Family, and Culture.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Joyce (Jump) Craig; his daughters, Jeanie Brown and her husband, Ken, Shirley Henson and her husband, Mark and Sandra Williams and her husband, Jim; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; six brothers and sisters; and numerous nephews, nieces and dearly loved friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Jack Craig; and a nephew, Jackie Craig.
