Mr. Billy Mack Ballard, 87, was born March 15, 1930, in Ada to parents Bowie Chadduc and Lona Francis (Foster) Ballard. He entered into eternal rest Oct. 26, 2017. Bill attended school in Ada and at East Central University.
Billy was known as "Bill" by his family and friends. He married the love of his life, Vada Sue Allen, Oct. 22, 1979, in Dallas. They were married for 29 years until her passing in June 2008. Bill worked more than 20 years for Vanity Fair - Lee Jeans Division.
Bill loved playing golf and working in his orchard. Bill was baptized in the Seventh-day Adventist Church in 1987 in Fort Worth, Texas. He was an active member serving as a deacon and facility elder in Fort Worth. After moving to Eustace, Texas, Bill attended and served as treasurer and deacon of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Athens, Texas.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Ballard; his parents; his brothers, Bowie and Eugene Ballard; and his sister, JoAnn Huff.
He is survived by his sons, Harmon Ballard and his wife, Wendy, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Bowie Ballard of Dallas; his daughters, Tina Hornung of Waxahachie, Shelly Rivera of Grand Prairie, Texas, and Kelly Green of Dallas; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his sister-in-law, Beverly Kirby and her husband, Stan, of Eustace, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews; other loving family members and many friends.
Bill was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
A graveside memorial service will be held in Spring 2018 in Addington. The date will be determined at a later date.
