Ann Harden, of McAlester, died Dec. 24, 2017, at McAlester Regional Health Center surrounded by her family. A private burial will be held at Rosedale Cemetery in Ada. A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church at a later date.
Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Volturo, Tom Crowl, George Lampton, Jerry Grubbs, Bill McMahan, Larry Bishop, Bill Ervin, Buddy Lollar, Tim Isenberg, Larry Meaders and Bruce Hall.
Ann was born to Lester Ray and Stella (Medlock) Stegall June 6, 1936, in Ada. Ann was raised in Ada and graduated from Ada High School. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in education from the University of Oklahoma, where she was an active member of the Tri Delta sorority. Ann married Robert Dawes "Bob" Harden Dec. 23, 1954, in Ada. They lived in Ada, San Antonio, Texas, and Little Rock, Arkansas before settling in McAlester.
Ann was a school teacher. She was an avid OU fan, a member of PEO, the Fortnightly Club, the Drop Outs dinner club, Presbyterian Bible study and an active member of McAlester First Presbyterian Church.
Ann is survived by her nephews, Mark A. Barcklow of San Antonio, Texas, and Richard Gibson of Claremore; her nieces, Beverly Ann Barcklow Odle and her husband, Doug, of Corpus Christi, Texas, Stephanie DeArmand and her husband, Charles, of Tulsa; her cousins, Dr. Richard Medlock and his wife, Jean, of Tulsa, Brian Medlock and his wife, Nancy, of Dallas, Marilyn Foster of Norman; and other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Stella Stegall; her husband, Robert Harden in 2010; and a sister, Betty Barcklow.
