Services for Alfred J. Murr, 85, of Ada are at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel. The Revs. Kendell Martin, Jimmy Keith and Darrell Phillips will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Murr passed away Friday, Dec. 2, 2016, at an Oklahoma City hospital.
He was born Oct. 4, 1931, near Stratford to Elbert G. and Eunice Schuessler Murr. He lived all his life in this area. He attended school at Stratford and also graduated from East Central University with a degree in accounting.
He married Betty Kidwell March 21, 1952.
Mr. Murr was a comptroller at the Robert S. Kerr Research Lab until his retirement. He was an active member of the Church of God of Prophecy. Mr. Murr was an avid fisherman and hunter and was known for the care he took for his beautiful St. Augustine lawn.
Survivors include his wife, Betty, of the home; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.
Bearers will be Rusty Hudson, Jason Odom, Bob Kirk, Kenny Vogt, Darrell Phillips and Larry Cole. Honorary bearers will be Earl Smith, Marvin Warren, Alfred Wright, Fred Wright, Frank Green, Deb Gillum, Frank Saladine and Jack Bonner.
